Transitions Foundation is proud of Sebabatso Ncephe, a transition’s grade 12 leaner. She was selected into the UNICEF South Africa’s Techno Girl programme. The programme is a joint collaboration between UNICEF, the Ministry in the Presidency: Women, the Department of Basic Education, the State Information Technology Agency and Uweso Consulting (the implementing partner) – aims specifically to promote girls’ participation and learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. By offering girls from grades 9 to 11 an opportunity to take part in job shadowing, mentorship and skills development programmes in the public and private sectors. Please watch Sebabatso’s virtual meeting with former football star David Beckham, who is UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Sebabatso tells us more about the techno girl programme and how it helps guide young women in making informed decisions about their career paths. Sebabatso wants to become a Biomedical Engineer and the program has assisted her with job shadowing opportunities related to her career path. She also received a laptop from the program to start working towards her dream. Congratulations Sebabatso! It is part of our mission at Transitions to empower our leaners to access such opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).Please visit this link for Sebabatso live interview: https://www.linkedin.com/…/unicef_david-beckham-voices…#transitionsfoundation#girlpower#girlsinscience#technogirlprogramme
